Diodrive
Custom Overdrive / Distortion FX
Inspired by the character of classic diode-driven overdrive pedals and moved beyond their traditional limits, Diodrive delivers everything from warm, touch-sensitive breakup to gritty crunch and aggressive distortion. A carefully tuned drive stage and flexible tone shaping give you the feel of a familiar pedal with a wider range of sounds.
Raw character of diode-clipping pedals
Boutique-style overdrive and distortion
The concept comes from a classic era of guitar effects where a simple gain stage and diode clipping could produce remarkably expressive sounds from light breakup and gritty rhythm tones to compressed, aggressive distortion. The MXR™ Distortion+ and DOD™ 250 are important references for this family of circuits.
Isn't designed as a museum-piece recreation.
It takes that stripped-down character and moves it into a more flexible studio instrument. Drive, Edge, Tone, filtering, Mix and Trim Drive let you shape the response far beyond what the original two-knob designs offered.
Custom drive that can sit naturally in front of an amplifier,
tighten a guitar track, add attitude to bass, or become a deliberately aggressive distortion sound in a production.

Diodrive asks a question
"What if that character had the control and flexibility expected from a modern studio plugin"?
That's where Diodrive begins. It takes inspiration from fundamental diode-drive architecture and expands it for modern production and expand scales of use: - a guitarist's drive pedal, - a producer's color box, - an engineer's distortion tool, - a sound designer's harmonic processor.

Diode Overdrive, Reimagined.
DSPTONE Diodrive
Flexibility of a plugin designed for the studio. The classic pedals that inspired it were celebrated partly because of their simplicity. MXR™ Distortion+ and DOD™ 250 family demonstrate how much musical character can come from a relatively straightforward gain-and-clipping concept.
Inspired by the Classics
Diodrive explores the territory of classic diode-driven pedals
from the open overdrive of the DOD™ 250 and MXR™ Distortion+, through the aggressive clipping of the ProCo™ RAT and Boss™ DS-1, to the smoother response of the Boss™ OD-1, Tube Screamer™, Boss™ SD-1, Soul Food™, and Fulltone™ OCD. Rather than recreating one specific circuit, DioDrive brings these familiar drive territories into a single flexible plugin, with modern control

More from DSPTone

by DSPTone
Unique spatial reconstruction plugin that combines sustain reduction, analog tape saturation, and a pristine shimmer reverb. Designed primarily for drums, loops, vocals, and synth plucks, it allows you to strip away unwanted natural acoustic clutter and replace it with a tight, warm, and highly controlled burst of modern analog air.

by DSPTone
SubMass is designed to solve the ultimate mixing challenge: achieving a massive, powerful bass response that remains perfectly tight, clean, and focused. In standard mixing, boosting low-end with a traditional equalizer often introduces unwanted sub-bass mud, robs your mix of headroom, and creates a flabby, uncontrolled low-end. SubMass fixes this by using a specialized, interactive filtering circuit. It creates a tight, resonant volume peak right at your chosen target frequency while simultaneously executing an aggressive high-pass cutoff immediately below it.

by DSPTone
Resonance as a tonal sculptor is a spectral shaping — decades before the term became common. The resonator emphasized carefully chosen bands, creating vowel-like formants, animated timbres, and shimmering harmonic structures that felt almost acoustic.

by DSPTone
Several delay eras combined into one, from vintage modulation echoes to wide modern rhythmic textures, offering chorusing, flanging, doubling, and expressive delay. Inspired by classic digital hardware and modern modulation design.
