Built with Neural Amp Modeling, the SA1064 is arguably the most realistic recreation of the "Golden Era" of preamps.
Although overshadowed by its successor, many claim the 1064 is the superior preamp (even though they're nearly identical). Using the same class-A circuitry and transformers, but with a slightly different EQ, the 1064 is familiar but distinct. You'll instantly recognize the classic timbre, but can't deny it has a (ever-so-slightly) unique feel. Perfect for vocals, guitars, synths, drums, bass, or any instrument that needs that familiar vintage sound, the SA1064 offers what you've come to love, but now with accuracy unparalleled by any other plugin.
Each line input gain setting utilizes a distinct neural model - maximizing versatility and ensuring the original unit is faithfully represented.
The SA1064 utilizes traditional DSP to recreate the shape, Q-value, range, and variability of the original unit's design.
A gain-compensated drive function opens up a huge range of sonic possibilities, while 2x oversampling ensures an accurate top-end, even when using aggressive settings. A Mono mode reduces the number of neural models from 2 to 1, cutting the CPU usage in half when processing single-channel signals.
The NAM technology running behind the scenes is very CPU-intensive. Neural Amp Modeling results in the most accurate and nuanced recreation of audio hardware, but it may be too taxing for older computers. Lower fidelity neural models reduce CPU, but at the expense of quality. For that reason, Sage Audio plugins only use the highest quality captures. Although most modern computers can handle at least 3 instances of our stereo NAM plugins, please try the 14-Day-Trial first.

This plugin is awesome and sounds amazing! I love to use it because it has limited controls so I can focus on how things sound rather than how they look. The saturation on this is top notch. Love it on vocals! The main issue is it is super CPU heavy and whenever I use it I need keep instances of it limited.

Electric guitar is always notoriously difficult to sculpt into exactly the right space and the SA1064 is very helpful in that regard. And, it's always good to have a variety of eq's to choose from. I have an old computer from 2015 and the SA1064 seems to consume A LOT of cpu, so I haven't used it much. I'm planning to get a new computer later this year and hopefully I'll be able to use the plugin more freely after that, so for now I'll give it 4 stars. Those of you with newer computers will probably be able to use more instances without issue, and I really like the sound quality, especially on electric guitars regardless of genre.

Great plugin, incredible sound quality. It deserves 5 stars because it delivers what it promises. Just be aware of the CPU consumption, it's high, but understandable due to the plugin's architecture, you may need to render the tracks after applying it.
