CORRUPT
Damage the signal.
CORRUPT introduces harmonic destruction, saturation, grit and aggressive character. At lower settings it adds density and contamination. Push it harder and the signal develops increasingly damaged harmonics, overdriven texture and a more hostile edge. Use CORRUPT for: saturation, grit, harmonic weight, aggressive synths, distorted melodies and destructive colour.
MALFORM
Deform the character.
MALFORM reshapes the sound through filtering, spectral movement and modulation. Instead of simply making a signal darker or brighter, MALFORM gives it movement and instability bending clean material into warped, evolving textures. Use MALFORM for: warped melodies, moving synths, strange vocals, unstable keys, evolving textures and tonal deformation.
DOMINION
Take control.
DOMINION is the central engine of Dark Authority. It tightens, compresses, moves and thickens the signal, creating a stronger and more commanding version of the source. Where the other engines specialise in individual forms of transformation, DOMINION acts like the grip around the entire sound. From additional presence to complete takeover. DOMINION is the centre of Dark Authority for a reason.
ABYSS
Drag it beneath the surface.
ABYSS creates depth, darkness and atmosphere. The sound is progressively filtered and pushed into a huge Andromeda-style space, producing anything from subtle distance to deeply submerged cinematic ambience. Unlike a conventional reverb control, ABYSS is designed around the feeling of the original signal being pulled away from the listener. Use ABYSS for: dark ambience, distant melodies, cavernous vocals, submerged instruments, cinematic pads and atmospheric transitions.
POSSESS
Put something underneath it.
POSSESS introduces Dark Authority's most sinister tonal transformation. A focused low-mid body is combined with a lower pitch and altered formant layer, creating a demonic shadow beneath the original sound while allowing its identity to remain recognisable. At lower values it adds strange weight and presence. At maximum intensity, the sound feels like something else has entered it. Use POSSESS for: demonic vocals, sinister melodies, dark bass layers, possessed instruments and horror-influenced sound design.
FROM SUBTLE TO DESTROYED
Dark Authority is not designed around one genre or one type of source.
Each engine can be used independently or combined with the others. Keep CORRUPT low and DOMINION high for controlled aggression. Push MALFORM for unstable movement. Let ABYSS swallow a melody. Use POSSESS to introduce an entirely new tonal personality. Or combine all five and build something that barely resembles the original.

Dark Authority includes a collection of presets designed to demonstrate different sides of the plugin.
Examples include: TWISTED CROWN Warped, possessed and heavily malformed. BLACK GLASS Controlled, polished darkness. HELLFORGED Aggressive harmonic corruption and grit. CTHULHU Deep atmospheric submersion. THE POSSESSED Maximum demonic tonal transformation. DEAD ORACLE Haunted, complex melodic transformation.

As the MENACE control rises, the signal progressively darkens, saturates, destabilises, widens and descends, introducing deep pitch-shifted character inspired by the possessed tonal treatment of Dark Authority.
